Morgan walked forward from the open door of her rented moving van. Her right hand covering her eyes so she could see the top of the apartment building. Her blue-green eyes glanced around at the unfamiliar faces that passed by: not caring, not speaking, not trying to make a scene. That's really all she wanted: a scene to liven up this new life of hers. Morgan was already so close to jumping in this adventure; so she took the first step inside.
The cement pavement seemed to echo her steps as she strode through the revolving door, pushing the glass forward easily. The swirl of the marble floor surprised her; she didn't really expect a lot from this surrounding. Morgan had decided to rent a flat here using the money her mother had left her in the will. I just want you to be happy. The faded words of the loving aura seemed to distract her for a moment. Morgan shook her length of blond hair somewhat as if trying to wave the memory onward.
The slap of faded blue-and-white sneakers seemed to make the lobby sound bigger, if not taller too. She could see people on the circling balcony above her: two boys and a girl. They pretended not to see her. Morgan tucked the stray strands of hair behind her ear and walked on. As she reached the desk in the middle, a short, black-haired middle-aged woman said, "Yes? Can I help you?" Morgan smiled brightly, Finally, a welcoming person.
"Yeah. Hi! I'm Morgan Fox. I recently arranged to rent out the flat on the...26th floor? Do you have the key for me?" She smiled happily, and watched as the woman shuffled through the drawer. Quickly, she snapped her hand up to hold out the key. "You might have to jiggle the handle a bit coming in and out, but, other than that, the whole flat has been renovated."
Morgan smiled, "Thank you so much!" She turned squeakily on her heels and walked back out side. The clouds had decided to cover the sun after all; she noticed the darkened appearance of the sky immediately. Her brother, Scott, had a heavy box in his arms and smiled sarcastically. "Have trouble finding the desk, did we?" Morgan smacked his arm playfully, but hard enough to make him about drop it. She smiled. "Don't you DARE drop that box!"
"Oh I wouldn't dream of it." He smiled crookedly. 'Where to?" Morgan sighed, grabbed her own box, and said, "Follow me." Scott clicked his heels together. "YES MA'AM!" She rolled her eyes. Guys can be so immature. They walked inside briskly and got on the elevator. Twenty-five floors later, they arrived at the door to her flat. Sighing, she opened the door and gawked at her new home.
A few hours later, they were hanging out on the couch and talking: aimlessly out of boredom. "Okay, time for the big brother to leave," she said, pushing him out the door. "WHAT?! Why, he asked half-way through the door-frame. I'll call you in a few hours. Bye! The door slammed shut in his face; he stood there for a few minutes, but walked away muttering. She laughed, jumping over the back of her couch to lie on her back staring at the ceiling.[/font]
