Jay, Gary, and Joe all sat in the back of the pub preparing to play. They were a country band and were growing into being bigger than they ever thought would happen. The house was usually crowded. Jay was the bass player as well as the background vocals with Joe. Gary was the lead singer and his cousin.
The crowd wanted them out and quick. Rascal Flatts they chanted. Most of them in country clothes. Woman and men all over. Jay made the last adjustment to his guitar and began to play as they walked out from the back of the stage after one of the staff knocked on their door Let's go boys. they walked out in assembly playing one of the crowds favorites Life Is A Highway even the kids loved it.
Jay looked for the girl he was talking to on the chat box, he hoped he'd see her tonight. Not that he was just being a guy and perverted cause that wasn't Jay at all. He just liked making friends in general... the joker of the trio.

Morgan entered the bar with a black star stamp on her hand. She frowned slightly at the brand marking her as "under-aged." Her blond hair was tied back halfway, looking prettier than usual due to the natural curlish-wave of it. Her blue-gren eyes searched the crowded bar through the milling crowd of kids and young adults, quickly finding the stage.
She found the guy she spoke with easily. She smiled; he looked so careless and free. She smirked casually; Morgan wished she could be like that, if only for a moment. The seventeen year-old watched him play and sing from the bar. When the bar-tender asked if she wanted anything, she politely requested an iced tea.
As the show began to wind down, Morgan stood and pushed her way through the crowd towards the stage. She clapped and sang along with the other "teens," secretly hoping Jay would see her. At one moment, Morgan thought that she caught his eye. She smiled and waved, trying to encourage him to be louder. Laughing as he smiled and did so, it lifted her spirits entirely.
Their segment ended, and Morgan turned to go back and sit at the bar with her iced tea. She ordered a new one, because someone could have tampered with it. A lock of her blond hair fell from the half ponytail, and she let it stay. Morgan drew shapes on the side of the glass as she waited for Jay to emerge.

Jay found her gaze and he made a slight attempt to a nod to let her know he saw her. He played louder as so did Gary as the lead singer. No one knew how hot and sweaty you could just get by singing a few songs, by their 7th song he was on fire. What looked hotter then anything were his cheeks, they were always the first to get red.
Jay went on doing one of his wacky solos, which was his hot tub dance. [if you really wanna see it then youtube it] as well as firing it up on the piano and having a drum-off with one of his friends that was their drum player. Give Jay a drum, guitar, or piano and he could fire the place up.
They left with a soft song of I Melt and left the stage with the last note still in play. They headed off to the back to cool off, well not Jay. He jumped off the stage, his bass still swung over his shoulder. He locked his sight on the girl that he hoped he would come to call a friend at least. Taking his hand out for her's he grabbed it gently and signaled her to follow him into the back room where the guys hung out to cool off. I didn't think you'd make it. he grinned as he guided her to the back.

Just as Morgan had started twiddling her thumbs, a hot and sweaty hand grabbed hers. She smiled as she turned to look at him. Briskly, she got up to follow; the ice tea lay on the bar forgotten. She listened to his attempt at breathless speech. She laughed light-heartedly. "I never say something I don't mean." Morgan moved from one side the next as the next act pushed past to get on stage.
"You guys were good." She blinked rapidly and exhaled: the air was humid, something she didn't expect. Morgan let go of his hand, but smiled not trying to be rude. "How often do you play," she asked. Smiling as the other guys looked at her, Morgan looked down, kinda feeling out of place.

Jay smiled at her as they walked toward the back, It didn't take long to find the door and enter where there was a couch two other guys were sitting on, the rest of the band had their own room. Joe and Gary were watching TV. When Joe meet her eyes he got up and left the room. Gary stood up smiling and wiping his hands off Hey, I'm Gary LeVox, that's Joe. he pointed at the guy going to the mini kitchen.
Jay took a few more steps letting her go in and sit down where Joe had once been. Joe gave a slight nod at Jay as Jay returned the signal Jay sat between Gary and her to help her comfort level. Did you just move here? he asked her.
Both Gary and Jay had a southern accent, with a drawl. Jay's voice a little lighter then Gary's adding to the baby impressing he gave everyone... always joking around or in higher energy than anyone else. The one that will get up on a table and start dancing just to embarrass you.

Morgan smiled as Gary introduced himself. Her eyes flicked to the back where Joe was, and she waved slightly. Morgan turned back to Jay as she sat down. She smiled lightly, immediately relaxed. "Yeah, I actually just got the rest of my stuff moved in before I came here." Her smile stuck, lighting up her eyes.
Morgan's smiles did that to her. When she smiled, you knew how she felt when she did: relaxed, at ease, comfortable. She felt at the moment that if she and Jay didn't hit off too well after this, at least maybe she and Gary would, maybe Joe too. A thought snagged at the back of her mind. Does Joe seem off? The corner of her mouth went back slightly. It almost seemed like he avoided her when she came in.
Morgan threw the thought out. Maybe he was just thirsty. She smiled again. Yes. That's it. He's just thirsty. Nothing to do with you at all. Jay's question lingered, seeming to take forever to fade even though it was just seconds since he'd asked. "My brother, Scott, helped me bring my things in.' She laughed. "He about fell up the stairs."

Jay knew where Joe stood and hoped that Morgan didn't feel offended by it. He simply continued to look at her, awaiting her next response. Gary looked just the same. In a way it could be told they were related and in others, one light and the other had darker hair, they both shared remarkable blue eyes and a steady heavy weight but neither exceeding to be 'fat'. Their look at her was priceless as they patiently waited for her to speak.
It took a moment for Jay to do anything on her last response and then when the temptation roared in, Jay busted in laughter. How do you fall UP the stairs?! he asked, still in laughter. He calmed down ever so slightly to hear her response, even though he wanted to lunge out, the image was just hilarious.
Joe finally came back in, grabbed his jacket and cell phone and headed out the door. He didn't meet Morgan's eyes once, it seemed as if he was being as swift as he could possibly be, not to make a noise.

She flinched slightly, but laughed as soon as Jay started laughing. She laughed. "I don't know, but it looked like he tripped on a step. She stopped a little when Joe came back in. Frowning as he grabbed his things to leave, not even looking at her as he left. Morgan looked at Jay and Gary quizzically, and jerked her thumb slightly at Joe's retreating figure.
"Did I do something wrong?" She frowned; her hair coming around her face as she turned a little to see Joe walk out the front door. "I mean...does he normal just, like, run out of a room like that?" Her voice wavered slightly in the last few words. No one had ever taken a disliking to her within the first few moments meeting her. It hurt Morgan slightly to have Joe just leave.
She looked down at her in in her lap. Morgan's eyes drifted to both of their faces. Her expression betraying her slightly. She tried smiling to let them know she was okay; it just offended her a little.

Gary and Jay looked at her, knowing that it could possibly have hurt her of what Joe did. Jay looked at Gary and Gary turned to look at Morgan. You would have thought Gary to start speaking but no, Jay turned and started Yeah, Joe's always like that. He's afraid of other people besides us really. After a while he'll warm up to you. Joe had a story behind him that was heart breaking for some people. His personality would be obvious to anyone that had experienced what he had.
Jay leaned back in the chair You ready to hit the town? he asked as he stood up. Gary stood up as well and grabbed his leather jacket. I'm going on a date myself, I'll see you two later. With that he gave Morgan a hug and grabbed his sunglasses, gave a Elvis expression and left.

Morgan nodded slowly. An attempt at a smile crossed her face. She stood when Gary and Jay did. She hugged Gary, not hard since she just met him. She smiled, amused at his Elvis expression and turned to Jay. Grabbing her coat, Morgan grabbed his hand pulling him softly along after her as she left the bar.
"So? What are we doing?" She smiled again, her eyes lighting up. Morgan shoved her hands in her coat pockets, looking over at Jay. Her blue-green eyes eyes wandered from his face to the sidewalk to the streetlights that had just started turning on. The twilight of the evening was coming and they were there to witness its coming.

Jay rolled his eyes at Gary for the Elvis, he was just trying to be silly, which he was.
His hand being dragged, he grabbed his stuff and followed her out the door. Being friends was already looking very possible. So, you have the hots for Gary? he laughed Maybe Joe? he asked still joking but serious. He wasn't going to tell.
He looked around thinking of where to go. Well, we actually were going to all meet up about 40 minutes away and maybe have a few drinks and bull shit. I don't know if your into that thing. We have a camper to go camping too, if you wanna join? he looked at her not knowing what she was thinking.

She smiled when Jay spoke, looking at him. Morgan laughed at his question. "No! How could you tell," she asked sarcastically. She waited calmly as he contemplated what they would do. She nodded at the end of his statement.
"Drinks, not so much. Camping I'll do, but I'd need to stop by my flat and pick up some things." Morgan smiled and stopped in the middle of the sidewalk. She looked up at him, suddenly curious. "Do you think I'm pretty?" Morgan thought that the question sounded quite vain of her, but she couldn't help wondering. Her blue-green eyes looked into his, waiting for an answer.

Jay smiled as they walked So you'll go? There was no telling what Jay would do, he could get pretty wasted. He kept a smile on to show he wasn't trying to think of that.
After a small moment of walking, he felt the sudden urge to stop, when he looked behind him, he knew why. She had stopped and asked him a question he might have someday expected a girl to ask him but not this quick. Of course he said Is that something your paranoid about with friends? he asked holding his hand out to take hers so they could continue on and talk at the same time.
He took small steps as he listened for anything else she might have to spill out. If she wanted to do so, Jay was the perfect one to listen, that was something he was good at.
His hands were rough from the chords on the guitar, fingertips callused from paying so much.

She took his hand and smiled. "No, not paranoid. Just curious." Morgan refrained from talking again and thought about the total setting of things. Her life had started a new chapter, a new page. A new town, a new home, and, already, new friends. But will we be just friends? The thought plagued her mind in the silence.
She thought about the way their hands intertwined. Unknowingly, without thinking about it, she squeezed his gently. "Guess I'm being a little immature, huh?" She smiled looking down. Her eyes deepened, somewhat darkened by the shadows. "So, where are we meeting?" She elbowed him lightly, playfully.

Jay smirked Just a little curious, don't worry about it though. If I couldn't stand looking at you I'd left quite a while ago and not offered to take you with us. he continued his smirk. He walked her back to his low rider car. [car in What Hurts The Most] you could call it a hot rod if you must.
He felt his hand and the pressure, he didn't mind at all. A small crush had been built toward her but he wasn't going to enforce it too quickly. No, if you started glomping me and asking me if you were fat and stuff I might agree but otherwise, no. Your fine. He opened the car door. If you have a car, we'll come pick it up in a couple days. It'll save gas, the way the prices are these days.
He thought about it I don't know where we're meeting. I think we drive so far and then decide where to stop. he laughed I know its kind of silly.
